“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal,

that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness – That
to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving

Statement of Purpose

The Shenandoah County Libertarian Party was founded in June of 2000 to begin competing in elections within the county.  Our goal is to spread awareness and acceptance of Libertarian solutions to various problems the Shenandoah Valley faces.
Candidates Needed!

The Shenandoah Libertarians are currently recruiting candidates for public office – please contact us if you’ve ever thought about running!

Do you believe the current crop of elected officials share your view that the best government governs least?

Think again.

Traditional tax-and-spend Democrats and Republicans treat the public Treasury as their piggy bank, to be broken into at will.

It’s time for a different attitude.

Join us.

The only legitimate function of government is to protect individual rights.  Only when someone initiates force or fraud against another should the government step in.

The Libertarian Party is the third largest political party in the United States, with almost 350 elected officeholders and about a quarter of a million registered Libertarians across the country.

In the 2000 elections, Libertarian candidates earned over three and a half million votes from over one million different voters.
